Sex Toy Review – Sex in the Shower Vibrating Mesh Sponge

I generally am not a fan of bringing sex toys into the shower only because the logistics can get a little complicated. If you aren’t fortunate enough to have a fancy shower with a seat or your shelves are already filled with hair and body care products, where do you keep your pleasure device until you are ready to use it? Do you leave it in the shower and risk guests finding your pleasure stash, or keep it in your bathroom drawer where you have to tiptoe out of the shower dripping wet to grab it?

The Sex in the Shower Vibrating Sex Sponge (NoLimitNovelties.com, $19.32) is a neat little device that eliminates those issues because it hangs neatly over your faucet until you are ready to turn it – and yourself – on. The unassuming pleasure device is as discreet as it gets, looking like nothing more than the standard body poof many people use to apply their body care products. Unlike most shower poofs, however, this one is packing a tiny but mighty silver bullet in the middle that is designed to do a whole lot more than just help you lather on your favorite Bath and Body Works shower gel.

Pros

The bullet, which can’t be seen unless you are really looking for it, has a standard one-touch button operation that makes it easy-to-use. It packs a decent punch for something so tiny, too, so it’s perfect for releasing a little tension in the shower before or after work. Or, if you prefer, it’s also amazing to use with a partner when you really want to get wet and wild. You can even use it as a body massager as well which makes for a full body experience.

Cons

The only con is that there are no instructions inside the box – but rather on the bottom of the box where most people wouldn’t think to look. The instructions are pretty simple – just open the bullet and remove a little plastic sheet from the battery to get it working, but again, something inside the box should state that. Pro tip: slide the bullet outside of the poof before you attempt to open it as it can be a little challenging to unscrew the top with all the mesh blocking your fingers.

Final Verdict

This product is Adult FriendFinder approved! It’s so discreet no one would ever guess it’s a sex toy, and it really gets the job done for under $20.

Sex Toys Reviewed – We Vibe Ditto Toy Review

If you or your partner(s) love anal play, a vibrating butt plug is a must-have. If you can invest in a remote-control vibrating butt plug, even better. Now what about a waterproof, vibrating butt plug sheathed in easy-to-clean, skin-friendly silicone? That requires no batteries and recharges via USB port? I think we have a winner.

The Ditto by we-Vibe is a cute little plug, available in deep purple or midnight blue, with a classic bulb-and-stem shape for the insertable portion. One side of the bulb is fairly flat and the other is plump and curved. Use the curved side to provide extra stimulation to your prostate, if you have one, or your g-spot if you don’t. The stem is attached to a comfy, surfboard-shaped base that nestles securely in the crack of your ass. This contoured base shape is a vast improvement over many cheaper butt plug models that often feature a simple and not-so-cozy round base. (And you do know not to use any anal toy that does not have a flared base at all, right? Not unless you want the entire staff at your local ER to know all about your hot date earlier that evening, anyway.)

The Ditto has no batteries, which means no battery compartment, which means it’s easier to make this toy truly waterproof. It recharges via a USB cord that attaches magnetically to a port on the underside of the base. The magnetic charger is smart in theory, but in practice it is easily dislodged, so you might want to find a safe and level place to recharge your toy – not a narrow bedside table, in other words. The Ditto holds its charge for approximately two hours.

This butt plug also features a small handheld remote you can use to control the vibrating sensations deep within. Use the remote for solo play, or hand it off to your partner for some extra-spicy surprise sensations. The remote is small and comfortable enough to conceal in the palm of your hand, offering some potential public play opportunities as well. Regardless of whether you’re in public or in private, with a partner or alone, using the remote to control the vibration is probably a better bet than trying to press the tiny button on the underside of the plug once it’s in place (although it might be fun to try). You can choose from a dozen vibration patterns and intensities; one of them is sure to hit the spot, so to speak.

The only downside to the Ditto is its size. This is a butt plug aimed for timid beginners, not size queens. Seriously, the business end is narrower than my two fingers side by side. It’s shorter than my pointer finger, too. Hungry asses are thus likely to be disappointed by this product, robust vibrations notwithstanding. Hopefully the We-Vibe will consider scaling up for future toy releases.

Like all We-Vibe products, you can sync up the Ditto with an app on your phone. As far as I can tell, in close range the app merely duplicates the functions of the handheld remote. If you have a long-distance lover that you like to video chat with, however, you might get a lot of fun out of fiddling with the pastel wave patterns displayed on the We-Vibe app and watching your partner’s reactions as the sensation in their ass changes according to your whim. Do keep in mind, though, that you can only sync up one We-Vibe toy at a time to the app, at least for now.

If you’re looking for a classy vibrating plug to introduce yourself or someone else to anal play, the Ditto is definitely worth checking out. It’s pricier than many non-vibrating “beginner” butt plugs, but the cost reflects its thoughtful design and suite of features. It’s ideal target are “eager, but shy” folks who already know they like some back-door stimulation but aren’t quite ready for the big toys. I have some good news in that department as well, though: if you use the Ditto often enough, you may find that the vibrations help you learn to relax your ass for more strenuous play later. Whether that’s “later in the evening” or “later next week/month/year” is ultimately up to you.

The Ditto retails for $129 and shipping is free on orders within the US over $50. Adult FriendFinder members also get a special 5% discount off their entire order with the coupon code AFFWEVIBE at checkout.

Sex Toys Reviewed – Rave by WeVibe

Prince fans will know what I mean when I say the Rave G-spot vibrating stimulator by We-Vibe looks more than a little like a purple banana, and has the potential to make you “go crazy,” too. Or – deep cut joke alert – maybe just “Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic.”  (Thumbs up to those of you who don’t need a translation from Prince-Speak.) Seriously, I think the toy designer was a secret fan, because the coincidences are a little bit too (G-)spot on.

The Purple Pleaser

The Rave is a sleek silicone baton, gently curved and also slightly asymmetrical. It feels great in your hand, and its surface is utterly smooth – so smooth, in fact, that at first I wasn’t sure where the input socket was. It turns out there’s a tiny little dimple where you insert the adapter when you need to recharge this beauty. The seamless design means the Rave is “splashproof,” which is a fancy way of saying water-resistant. In other words, don’t drop it in the tub or run it through the dishwasher, but don’t worry if you spill your bedside glass of water (or other, more organic fluids) on it either.

Does Rave Hit the Spot?

While the Rave advertises itself as a G-spot stimulator, most effective G-spot vibes have a more pronounced curve or hook than the Rave does, so it may take a little fiddling to get it to, um, hit the spot. Fortunately, the Rave is much more versatile than its advertising might make it appear. Its shape makes it lovely for clitoral stimulation, too. It’s super-quiet and features a range of vibration patterns and intensities, so you’re sure to find a setting that works for you. The controls are easy-to-use by touch, and it holds charge for up to two hours so you can take your time getting to know it.  Like all We-Vibes, the Rave is free from BPA, phthalates, and latex so it’s completely body-safe as well.

The WeConnect App

All We-Vibes can sync up with a smartphone app that allows you to control its speed, intensity, and vibration pattern remotely. Syncing up the app and the toy via Bluetooth was a little tricky; the first time I tried it, my phone crashed. (I have an Android phone, for what it’s worth.) The second attempt went more smoothly, however. Lacking long-distance lovers, I have no easy way of testing the remote feature at the moment, but pair it up with a video chat app and it sounds like the fixings for one hot virtual date!

Price

The Rave retails for $119 and shipping is free on orders within the US over $50. Adult FriendFinder members also get a special 5% discount off their entire order with the coupon code AFFWEVIBE at checkout.

Final Thoughts

The Rave is full of fun — its gentle curve and asymmetrical design feels good in the hand. It delivers a range of strong but controllable sensation, it’s easy to maneuver and clean, and its controls are pretty intuitive. It’s rechargeable, holds a charge for up to two hours, and doesn’t take any batteries. This allows the Rave to be completely sheathed in silicone, leaving it sleek, attractive, and splash proof. You can insert it or use it externally, or move back and forth as you see fit. This is one of the most handsome toys I’ve seen on the market in a while, a definite keeper.
